Looking for a laptop

all laptops will setup with power saving stuff you have to go into setings and make a new power profile, one for when its pluged in and the default when on battery, the choices are you own

The intels already scale as and when required, just use the power settings. I have mine at min 100% on power, and min 5% on battery. so you get the best of both worlds then. My current GS60 ghost pro with i7, 16gb ram, 15.6" screen and GTX 870m, lasted 6 hours web surfing at 40% brightness at the weekend! So i'm pretty sure with an i5 processor in a £500 laptop, you'll be fine!

Think he was referring to the CPUs that have U or whatever they put in nowadays for those ultra low level stuff that's slower than regular mobile stuff but is naturally, more efficient. Dell Outlet is always good for a bargain particularly when they have codes on offer.
