as far as i can see there is no sub forum that fits the description of my need so ive posted it here :F

so as the title says im looking for a light to.. light up my keyboard at night, prefferably something like a case cathode, but about 10cm x 1cm and quite dim, (dont need something insanely bright), needs to be possible to plug into mains rather than molex, also need a way to stick it to the underside of the desk just above the keyboard :D

if anyone knows anything that fits this description, reply!

Have you considered buying a backlit keyboard?

This one is a great keyboard and the blue backlighting is great - perfect for use at night. I have the G15 v1 (which is basically identical to the G11, but has a little screen on it) and it works great in the dark.

This, this, this, this and this are other options for illuminated keyboards available on OCUK.

considered and didnt want to get one :P, costly for a bit of plastic, il buy a gaming mouse sure, but a keyboard.. well i get basic ones, im using a fujitsu kb400 atm, way cheap, and i figure buying some sort of small light is again cheaper

This is a bargain, I just bought one from OCUK with a few other bits for my new build, it arrives today to replace my aging Eclipse, I hope its as good as my old Eclipse that has served me well for 4 years with 0 problems.

Razer used to do a product - The Razer battlelight.

No longer manufactured, though. I would suggest the G11 keyboard too

Guys, stay on topic. He doesn't want a new keyboard

You could look around on the bay for the Razor Battlelight, or do as a few others have suggested and go with a LED strip powered off PSU with a acrylic casing that would also dim the intensity

hmm duno tbh, led strip powered by psu isnt desirable considering my case isnt directly below, its kinda off to the left (wide desk), though do you know anything like a clip on lamp that i could clip to the back of the keyboard drawer, and have it pointing at the keyboard, but also has to be long like that battle light thing :p
