I'm in the market for a new Fullsize UK Layout Keyboard and I would like to get some advice please.
Recently the 'S' key on my old DELL keyboard from 1990 (IBM M-series clone) finally died. The keyboard itself gets a lot of use/abuse and you can tell just how much some keys took from the wear on the keycaps. I do a fair amount of gaming (as the keys would suggest), but I also do a lot of typing and at good speed. I struggle to type on anything that's not similar in design to the traditional full size keyboards which include the slight curve towards the back keys and high feet as I don't get on with wrist rests. I'm not a fan of some of the cheaper spongey soft or strongly sticky keys I've found on the odd keyboard. Having said that, if the keys are too sensitive I sometimes find myself adding letters where they weren't wanted.
With all that in mind, I have been looking at the Ducky RGB black Fullsize keyboard with Cherry Blue switches (model with the tiger design on the spacebar), or alternatively the Corsair K70/95 models. I almost made an order earlier today for the Ducky version as this old keyboard I'm stop gap using is awful, but felt I would be better getting some advice. I would consider a custom keyboard, but at this time I would make uninformed choices so felt off the shelf was best.
The Ducky keyboard looks to provide a more custom experience and, if I find the blue switches not suitable down the road, I can always swap them out. It looks to give sufficient RGB to keep me entertained, a slight curve on the keys and with solid feet to help positioning. I was a little put off by the casing material being a lighter 'plastic' over say the Shine 7, but it does appear to get solid reviews for its build and sound. The Corsair on the other hand has a slightly cheaper starting price, nicer quality casing, but I believe the keys are more flat - lacking the curve, plus the software for the RGB is overkill for me.
If anybody has some suggestions that would help me with my decision or offer any additional choices, I would very much like to hear from you please. Thank you for any help you can provide!
