Hey there, first post on these forums for my first computer build. I'm looking for a midi-tower case to house the following components:

YOUR BASKET
1 x KFA2 GeForce GTX 760 EX OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE GPU Keyring £215.99
1 x Intel Core i5-4570 3.20GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £161.99
1 x Asus Z87-C Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £109.99
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TD120BW) £83.99
1 x Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) £65.99
1 x OCZ ZS Series 550W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £49.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £49.99
Total : £749.93 (includes shipping : £10.00).

My budget is around £90, but I would rather stray to the lower side of this. I'm looking for a case with space for expanded cooling along with built in ssd brackets to the hard drive bays.

I originally looked at the coolermaster cm 690 ii advanced, but I was put off by the unavailability of extra identical fans.

If you see any poor component choices in the above posts, I'd also be grateful if you let me know. Cheers.

Cheers for the suggestions. I was considering the ronin, but OC don't have a release date set and I want to build this fairly soon.

As for the haf 912, it's got most of the features I'm looking for but the styling is a putoff, I do appreciate the response though.

Any other ideas? I've considered the bitfenix prodigy, but I've read that it suffers from major gpu cooling issues, is that true?

The ronnin is a great suggestion,

Another one to look at would be the Cosair 300R, You can get some extra SP 120's to go with it too (later on)..

A prodigy won't work as you motherboard is ATX size and the case is ITX (a lot smaller).

I've had a look at the 300R in the mean-time, it seems almost exactly what I'm looking for. I only wish that it came with dust filters on the side panel, but that can easily be fixed.

Odd, I found the prodigy in the ATX section on the OCUK store, cheers for the tip.

Yeah, the 300r seems about right for you.

Unless you meant the bitfenix shinobi.. The 300r is still the better option.

Bah. Ofcourse I meant the Shinobi, sorry, all these case names are making my head spin!

Yeah, I reckon I'm gonna go with the 300r. How would this fan set-up work out? I plan on using these fans: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-003-CS

2 x 120mm side intake
1 x 140mm front intake (stock)

2 x 120mm roof exhaust
1 x 120mm back exhaust (stock)

You don't need to will all the slots.

What i'd do is;

  • 2 X 140mm front intake (one comes stock)
  • 2 X 120mm Roof exhaust
  • 1 X 120mm Rear Exhaust (stock)

Leave the side alone, just messes up airflow..

How about a CPU cooler?

Ok. This sounds more sensible. Do you know which fans come as stock?

I'm not planning on having a CPU cooler at first, unless it comes cheap as I don't plan on overclocking at first. Is there a budget cooler you would suggest?
