Hi I'm in the market for a new midtower case as I've decided that my thermaltake armor +mx already looks dated.

So far I've looked at the silverstone fortress ft01, this is at the top end of my budget and I like its simple, endearing styling.

I'd like to know if there are other midtower cases in this price bracket, or under this price bracket that share the ft01's good looks.

I'm not too bothered about cooling ability as I'm not a pro overclocker, I just want to lightly overclock the following system;

Intel Q6600
4x1Gb Geil Black Dragon PC8500
ATI HD 4870 512mb (thinking of crossfiring in the future)
A P45 based motherboard I havent chosen yet
2x SATA-2 HDD's

I definetely want a window to be able to look at my handiwork, I don't want a fancy shaped window like on the antec cases though.

Thanks

if your willing to spend the top end of your budget the silverstone ft01 is an amazing case. Quality is amazing, its quiet and also cools very well.

One of the best upgrades i've done to my pc

My vote is for the Fortress. I'm torn between the Fortress and the Corsair Obsidian but I think the price of the FT01 is going to swing it for me. I like the idea of the negative pressure system too to keep dust to a minimum.

Ok so Ive changed my mind on some things, and the main thing is that I dont have £150 to spend on a case...more like half that.

So I've narrowed it down to these;

Antec 902
Coolermaster Scout
Coolermaster HAF 922
NZXT Tempest
Lancool Dragon-Lord PC-K62

not to keen on the side window on the latter though, Its too big in my opinion and I dont like that it shows the drive bays. Can anyone provide a reccomendation on one of these cases or reccomend something else in this sort of price range that they feel would be a better choice?

At the moment I'm swayed towards the scout, I think red led's are sexy and will age better than blue...and I love the black interior!

I'd go for the Dragon lord out of all of those. The rest look a bit too tacky and plasticy in my opinion. If you dont like the window you could always go for the version without (k58) although I don't think it has a black interior (not that youd see it anyway without the window. Personally I think the windowed version looks awesome , so much so that I've decided against the Fortress and Obsidian in favour of the K-62. The drive bays are actually far more visible on the scout.

thanks but I'm decided on the scout, love the looks and it will look awesome with two red led fans on the window

placing the order in the morning, thanks darkst4r, you tried your best.

Your choice, you can get the Fortress for £30 less if you shop around. It's a beautiful and quiet case, but does have it's problems.
