... with unlinked ram/cpu overclocking and nothing to do with nvidia.

I have a p5n-e sli and I want to get rid of it.

In fact maybe Asus as the P5Q seems to be good, any others I should be looking at for rock steadiness?

I have a gigabyte P45-DS5 and it has been the most stable motherboard i have ever had so far not a single major issue with it. Worked out of the box with my Q9450 and 8gig of ocz vista gold memory and easily overclocked the cpu to 3.2 (after i was helped in oc'ing it). I cannot recommend the board enough for people that want stability and so far i havn't seen anything on any forum about problems with it.

Sounds like my kinda board, thanks

Hi, I have a two Asus Maximus Formula's and they have been the most stable motherboards i have ever had so far not a single major issue with it. Worked out of the box with my Q6600 and 4gig of crucial vista memory and easily overclocked the cpu to 3.6 (didn't need any help oc'ing). I cannot recommend the board enough for people that want stability. :):):):)

And just to add, none of my Asus motherboard have given me any major problems. All three of my house PC's have a Asus board in them, all of them are completely reliable....

Can certainly vouch for the p5q series, running a p5q deluxe and ive had no problems with stability, cracking board for overclocking on as well.

I thought it was only Nvidia chipsets that allowed for unlinked Ram/CPU overclocking? In which case your only alternative IMO that isn't Asus is an Evga 790i ***, which are brilliant, but a) expensive and b) DDR3 only.

Which model out of the P5Q range would you recommend, are they all the same when it comes to overclocking?

I'd be interested into knowing this also. Been thinking about getting a P5Q, but have a limited budget, so a cheaper version of the P5Q would definately have my preference. However, if it turns out that the more fancy versions are really much better, I'd have to be a bit more patient.:D
