So I'm on the hunt for a new monitor I must say the more I look into it the more confused I get (such a newb I know). I had previously bought a AOC Gaming C27G1 - 27 Inch FHD Curved Monitor from amazon but had to send it back due to poor performance.

The work laptop I use is a Dell latitude 7410 and my personal computer is lenovo ideapad miix 700-12isk. I want something which doesn't lose any quality when I plug in these laptops using an HDMI cord. The AOC Gaming monitor didn't seem have enough pixels to match these devices. My Xbox One which I use for gaming was also blurry and kind of faded/stretched, so want to avoid that. I had played around with the settings on the monitor and researched what needed to change – but there was very little improvement in picture quality from playing around with it.

I'd be willing to pay up to 300 if this means avoiding these issues but would appreciate any insight on why I was having these issues and what kind of monitor I should be looking for in the future.

Thanks!

Well it depends on how much you use the xbox one as it's display resolution is 1920 x 1080. If you use a monitor with higher native resolution than the monitor has to scale it back which causes blurriness. What res it your laptop?

If you use your xbox a lot then a 1080p monitor would be best. A 27" or 32" with 16:9 aspect ratio would do it nicely as this fits the xbox one. Might even consider a TV rather than a monitor as they scale resolution much better than a monitor.
