Last few weeks I've been looking for a new mouse. After 8 years of loyal service my Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical USB has developed a sticky left click.

The Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical has been perfect for me... however maybe there's something better? Any recommendation? I don't game, and want a button on the left and right side.

My experiance with wireless stuff was more than 5 years age, maybe closer to 10 and they were rubbish. Is wireless PERFECT like USB now?

Buy another Intellimouse. Wireless chews batteries..

I've got a wireless microsoft mouse and I find the batteries last quite a long time considering how much I use it. Just make sure you buy quality batteries and you should find 2 AAs will last you 4months or so with regular use.

Logitech + energizer 2500mAh rechargeable batteries.

I've had the same pair of batteries in mine for 2 months, and then if they go it's a 2 second job to swap for the other two rechargeables.

I use a Razor Copperhead, yes it is a gaming mouse but works fab with everything else...possibly overkill if your not into gaming. Its wired so no issues with batteries running flat! :)

If the Intellimouse has been good to you and you like the feel of it, then I dont see any reason why you shouldn't get another one, they're very good, solid mice. If you get another Intellimouse you wont have to spend too much time adapting to it either.

The Laser Mouse 6000 seems pretty similar. Also according the the tech specs the buttons are much better. 1 million clicks on Intellimouse and 3 million on the laser, similar improvement for the other mechanics. It's also 800 rather than 400dpi and a little lighter. Seems like the logical thing to get... as soon as OcUK get some more stock.
