Looking for a mp3 splitter.

New to Macs,

Looking for an application that will allow me to extract a certain part of an mp3 so it can be used as an ringtone etc. Anything like this exist for mac?

Garageband or Audacity should do the trick.

i tunes can do it. Just right click the track, set a start and finish time then save as an mp3.

Right clicking the track doesnt bring up that option? Could you do a step by step guide if you would be so kind?

Right click the track, get info, options.

Edit.

Then drag it to desktop or phone or whatever.

Not sure what your talking about, something like this exists for songs bought from the store which can then edit to make as a ringtone.

Besides changing the start and stop time of track only makes it play part of a track.

Why did you download software to do what the bundled software on your Mac does very well?

That's a Windows hangover you need to get rid of! A large proportion of what you probably want to do you can do with iLife, get used to it!
