I've been having a lot of networking problems* recently and it has come to the point where "try a different router" is the next step. I've not got a spare, and my current router (a DrayTek Vigor2710n) is four or five years old and is probably due a replacement anyway.

I'm looking to spend at most ~£120 on an phone-line (not cable) router/modem, but I'm struggling to differentiate between the offerings.

Are there any particularly good models out at the moment in that price range?

I'm not fussed on USB ports, the essential requirements are really just wifi (preferably AC although N will do), and preferably gigabit ports.

*Lots of dropouts. I thought this was a problem with my ISP but during a lot of these drops I can't even access the router via powerline or wifi so I think the router itself is packing in.

Asus pwns at the moment - you'll need a DSL version for it to have a modem built into it ;)

Erk, was going to go for the Asus DSL-N66U but it seems to have a lot of problems, and there don't seem to be many more DSL modem Asus routers. Any opinions on the NetGear D6200-100UKS?

DSL-N55U

I reckon the problems you're seeing other people have are from previously poor firmware.

I have the N55U, on the newer firmware's it's fantastic. Never skips a beat.
