Looking for a new car - Reccomendations please

Ok due to starting a new job a few months back im looking for a newer car.

Currently driving a 2002 1.6 16v MK4 Astra Sxi and looking for something with a bit more poke.

Been offered a 04 plate mondeo zetec s 2.0 tdci, with 47,000 on the clock all receipts, climate, abs, heated seats etc, off a mate from work for 4K, but after reading about there seems to be a few probs with injectors.

Also been looking at zafira gsi,s , focus st170.

Any others worth looking at?

Insurance not really a problem as im 29 with full no claims bonus and no points.

Needs to cater for 2 kids, pushchair etc.

Looking to spend under 5K including trading in my astra

2.0 TDCI's are generally good - these cars are extremely common so it's inevitable you'll hear of problems - they are, in my experience, blown out of all proportion on here. Facelift cars are generally very reliable engine and fuel system wise, and in most other respects too.

Might be able to squeeze an ST220 for that, maybe sell your Astra privately?
