Your full system spec would be a good start. At £340 pound though the 4870x2 is the best card. I don't think you really need to spend this much though to play warcraft.

If you only play WoW then any card of around £50 would likely suffice. But as above, the rest of your spec would be helpful.

my system is
intel quad core 2.4 q6600
4gb ram
8800 gtx
vista 64 premium

any thing else u need to know? only asking coz my fps goes down to 30 with with grp and sometimes crashes

There's a similar thread floating about, with has come to the conclusion that WoW is incredibly CPU-limited and needs fast clocks. 3Ghz at least.

yeah I heard this somewhere too, although having never played it I wouldn't know for sure. Looks like it's time for a bit of oc'ing :D

Trust me, its true. I provided some evidance on this previously. At the moment it only tries to max core 1, but uses core2. In cities etc there is very high cpu usage on core1, almost full, and more than half of core2, even on my Q6600 at 3.2. Get an overclock up to 3Ghz and you should see an immediate improvement, as the GTX is still decent. As you are running low res the extra cpu grunt should be even more apparent. Due to the age of the engine, it is quite likely it offloads some graphic work to the cpu that would be done by gpu for higher efficiency now, ie geometry. Despite the upgrades the oldest sections of the game engine will be circa 2001-2003, which is an age in pc/engine design.
