Hey so i have a BFG 260 Maxcore at the moment, ive been looking at water cooling but decided that a 0.4Ghz processor increase isnt worth £200 so im going to sell ym 260 and upgrade, ive been away ffrom graphics for a long time so im not sure whats good, can anyone help me pick a card, im not bias to any card etc just the best card for the money. Ill be doing research also and posting questions to sort this out. Thanks

Does your mboard do sli ? If so, adding another gtx260 would be a good value for money upgrade.
Ati should be releasing new cards sept/oct, so mebbe worth waiting.
What res do you game at?

have you thought about a GTX275(dont know which version to pick so i will leave that to you) or a XFX ATI 4890 XT,both very good cards but the 4890 is faster

i do have sn sli and crossfire board, does both. Not sure if i want to wait assuming new card will be overpriced. I play mainly FPS games at 1920x1200

Worst thing that can happen with waiting is it will push down the prices of current cards.

Plus the mid range of the next gen will most likely be as fast if not slightly faster than the current best cards, and mid range typically is reasonably priced.

I would get another gtx260 for sli then, should max out aa/af on most games.
Great value cards for £120-£140 imo.

i was thinking about that http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-094-GW&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1235

as its crossfire, then when new cards come out that drops, i get another and then thats quad crossfire for cheap ?

It is a good graphics card. It trades blows with the GTX 295 sometimes but is mostly behind but not by far when so. Price vs performance it's better IMO than the GTX 295.

To buy the 4870 X2 now when there's cards on the horizon I would not suggest. For quite close to the performance you will be upgrading to with the 4870 X2 you'll come into touching distance with an additional GTX 260. Stick an overclock on both the GTX 260s and get even closer. The 4870 X2 will be faster even with the 260s overclocked but not by a lot at all and certainly not worth the £100+ price.
