Hey all.
I have been a member of a few Discord servers.
They start off being good fun, but as they grow they end up with Gen Zs who talk in memes where everything is offensive. I'm in my 30s and it isn't my sort of thing.

I like FPS games the most, but am also looking for general nerd chat.

Preferably UK based.

Any recommendations?

God help us when they all grow up

How does Discord actually work, the ones I have connected to require you to actually 'join' the group to speak to anyone/ see the channels????

Coming from a teamspeak background, how do I join these groups?

I think there's a new feature where you can view now but not actually be in the channel. Sure I seen it when I last log in as a feature. A bit like a Ghost.

To join the servers - you just click the link or add the code to join the server. Then once you are in usually permissions need to get assigned to you after you speak in something like a general channel. It's usually how the servers/channels get set up but it's different for evert server.
