I'm not sure which fps game to buy.

I play CSS mostly. Source engine rules. Smooth excellent performance. Always able to find servers. Not buggy compared to other games.

I bought BF2 but wasn't impressed. Kills weren't as satisfying as CSS. Plus it is buggy. Front end is nasty!

Got FEAR the other day, but not really impressed either. Front end nasty too. Gameplay not as fun as CSS.

I was looking on Gamespy and it seems a lot of people still play

Buy quake 3 second hand, it's great. UT2k4 is pretty good also.

Medal of Honour and Call of Duty are both excellent multiplayer games, especially COD.
 
If I buy Quake 3 second hand, how can I be sure the previous owner(s) isn't using the serial key?

Which one? All the same basic game?

Quake 3 Arena, I guess the DVD box is just it packaged in a different box. Team Arena is not as popular.
