Hey all,

Just played through Deus Ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided over the last month or so and loved the games. Looking for similar games that I most likely missed in the past. Have heard good things about Bioshock and Crysis, but not sure if they would be similar, so thought I ask you experts about what games you would recommend ??

Would prefer something more "modern", as being able to use weapons like gun/rifles and not knifes/bow. :p

Looking forward to see your recommendations.

Was just about to suggest Prey and Dishonoured but beaten!

How about System Shock 2 or even the original Deus Ex?

Dishonored and Dishonored 2

I like this suggestion as you can go all stealth or full combat and there are multiple ways of achieving the objectives. Very similar to Deus Ex.

The new Hitman would also be similar.

Hey, TheSwede, noticed you around a few of the games forums I've been frequenting over the past little while, so good chance we have similar tastes! :)

I was going to suggest Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen until I saw your preference for modern games. It's one of those weird overlooked, janky and rough round the edges RPGs that is nevertheless just immense fun to play. Actually, I still have kind of recommended, haven't I? :)

For a modern setting for this type of game, I also really liked Alpha Protocol, which has RPG elements and some options to play stealthily. Also overlooked and very good fun, with a fairly decent story and what feel like meaningful choices.

Also - did you ever play Sleeping Dogs? That also a little overlooked (though to a lesser extent). Open world, martial arts and guns. This one too: just great gameplay.

Bioshock infinate
Prey
Dishonoured
Hard reset: Redux

Can certainly recommend Prey

Yeah, played Prey, it's an excellent game. Having looked at Bioshock Infinate, do I have to play the previous Bioshock games before, or no connection to each other ?

Elex.
Andi.

Played Elex and loved every minute of it, thanks for the suggestion though. :D

Actually tired the original Deus Ex before starting Human Revolution, but it crashed right away for me and couldn't be bothered finding out why so went straight to HR. Was lazy of me but done is done. :o Will try again on a later date though, but felling for something new.

Far cry 5 if you want to have a good romp of a game and then be disappointed by the ending

Yeah, heard about Far Cry but when I asked was suggested to play 3 and 4 first to see if I liked the series. FC 5 looks great though, got to admit that !

Dishonored and Dishonored 2

I played Dishonored and liked it, got the DLC to finish before moving to the second one later some time. Quick look at Hitman looks interesting. Should I start with Blood Money or which one of them ?

Yes, you kind of have recommended Dragon's Dogma now, so had a quick look at it. :p Looks a bit like Skyrim with dragons and all. :p

Seeing that Obsidian is behind Alpha Protocol it sure peeking my interest ! And nope, never played Sleeping Dogs, looks like a bit of mayhem though but will look at it bit more.

Thanks for all suggestions, greatly appreciated !! :D

All the Bioshock games are excellent and are an absolute must play. Also check out F.E.A.R and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. These 2 games in particular are a bit older that I missed but played last year and they absolutely still hold up - fantastic games!

Far Cry 3 is the best one in my opinion. Great story and characters.

Thanks for all suggestions, greatly appreciated !!

I ended up buying the BioShock Collection, only cost me £13 so was quiet cheap for 3 games. Also bought Ghost of a Tale since it caught my eyes and sounded fun ! So those two (Well, 4 really) should keep me busy for a while, hopefully ! :p

Wow you gave up on the original Dues Ex and bought a weirdo trilogy instead.

That's not lazy, that's just shameful :D
Not given up on Deus Ex, just played through 2 of them and felt I wanted something new for a while. I got the original Deus Ex from GOG as well, hopefully it be working there later. :p
