Looking for a new game

Me and the missus are looking for a good horror/zombie game to play, Im going to purchase Dying light for me as I don't mind 1st person, However she prefers 3rd person , So any recommended 3rd person ones would be appreciated

Dying light is rubbish solo it’s only really a good game in coop.


The evil within is pretty good imo

How are you after games to play separately or coop together?

So games you can play separately, rather than co-op?

Maybe State of Decay 2, although beware it has some issues. Resident Evil series of course, and maybe the Zombie Army Sniper Elite spin-offs.

For non-zombie, I enjoyed The Evil Within games.

I did tell her to go for Resident evil as we had it on PS4 and she loved it, State of decay looks pretty mint tbh so that could be a good shout... Evil within is a no go, She cant play it as she gets to scared and passes the controller to me

Yeah, try the latest Res Evil games (after 3 and before 7) and State of Decay.

Dead Space 1 & 2 are excellent and are in 3rd person - a bit like the later Resident Evil games only in space.

Resident 5 is probably the most accessible of the later ones (4 is better but the controls take a bit of getting used to, 7 is in first person and 6 just isn't that great unless your a big Resident Evil fan).

The Dead Rising games are also in 3rd person although I never really got in to them myself.

You should also check Hellblade: Senua's sacrifice - it's a cracking game, in 3rd person and not too scary.

Alan Wake and Dreadout are also 3rd person horror games although if she couldn't handle The Evil Within then these would probably be too intense.

Not 3rd person but Dead Island: Riptide is a great zombie game.

Re: Alan Wake - great game too, but hard to get the first one now (it was pulled from digital distribution over music licensing). I don't think the follow up, American Nightmare, was affected though? As you say though, might be a little intense.

Vampyr is a 3rd person Horror/Vampire RPG game. Played a few hours of it and I am enjoying it.

State of decay 2 is worth a look, as is State of decay YOSE Edition.

I'd also keep an eye out for Overkills The Walking Dead game coming later this year as it may be something you'd enjoy playing together.

Haven't played State of Decay 2 in a few days, but when I last tried to coop it the game was completely broken. Constant disconnects, seeing different sets of zombies, cars disappearing, not being able to see eachother... You name it, if it was a bug/flaw the game had it.
