I miss the days when i had a higher hz CRT monitor and think its time to change up from my current 24inch 60hz max LCD monitor as its not so comfortable on the eyes and i remember how great my old CRT used to be back when i played the original counterstrike.

My budget is up to about £300 and i'm basically looking for the best possable monitor i can get for that budget that's 120hz.

From what i'v read a lot of people seem to be raving about the BenQ XL2411T but is this really the best option for under £300?

Any advice would be apprechiated.

Whats the deal with an IPS 1440p screen then? i havent really read up about monitors in years since i got this one but just reading around here everyone seems to be mentioning 120hz panels for gaming esp FPS online gaming so im curious what are these 1440p ips panels like compared? I can't imagine id wanna game at 2560x1440 really lol as i can just about cope with very high settings on my crossfire 5870 setup with 1080p and in games like CS online which i still play a lot off i run a much lower resolution anyway so i would think the 120hz would be more use to me than a higher res.

1440P screens are very nice, but if your a gamer be prepared to upgrade your GPU's because 1440P is really demanding.

I'm switching back to a 1080P IPS screen for gaming, I can plug in PS3/PS4 at native res and my fps will be so much higher @ 1080p on PC lol.

Yeah, the thing is though its mostly going to be for online games specifically fps because for single player stuff i mostly just use my 55inch TV so i think a low MS 120hz panel might be the best way for me to go?

Yep like the benq 2411t or the samsung sa700 is what you need :)
