OK,
Now I've got the TV I want I'm going to be replacing my DVD player with a PS3 and Sky+ with SkyHD over the summer.
However, whilst I was at it I was thinking about getting a new receiver to replace my CA 540R mk1 but since I've not really kept up to date with audio kit whilst I was looking for a TV I'm a bit out of touch and pretty confused:
My TV allows for different profiles on each input, so I currently have one for TV, one for DVD, one for Wii and one for my Archos and the differences between these profiles will become more marked when Blu-ray and HDTV are taken into account. Now most of the receivers I've been looking a do HDMI pass though, but with only a single out, which is no good for me.
As a result I'd like to know if I'm going to run into any problems outputting the audio from my sources simulaniously via optical to the receiver and HDMI to the TV?
The room is set up for 6.1 and all the cabling is chased into the walls so I'm not going to be reconfiguring for 7.1 anyway and if it's late I want to be able to use the TV speakers to keep the noise down.
Any options / ideas / comments?
