Current system:

i7-2600k @ 3.4ghz
16GB ram
Radeon R9 200

Screen is starting to get strange artefacts and flickering which leads me to believe GPU is failing for some reason.

Also, Visual Studio as my project gets bigger is starting to run slower, bit of delay opening files as Resharper processes them, build times getting slower etc.

Requirements:

- Tower only, MOBO/CPU/RAM/GPU/PSU/SSD
- Card capable of 3x monitors
- Significant bump to CPU
- Anything that can make building software quicker would be great
- Anything that can run Visual Studio / Re-sharper better would be great
- Interested in M2

Budget:

- Not too important but am expecting something around £800-£1.5k

Looking at 7700k

Thanks for any advice!

I agree with MassiveJim. Normally I'd say X99 but it's soon to be replaced and I reckon AMD Ryzenis better suited to your needs as its more cores. Get a 1700/1700X with lots of RAM.

I'd say Ryzen is certainly worth considering, or if you want to stay intel, then i'd suggest x99 (or its successor) for workstation use rather than the mainstream z270 platform. I put together 4 with 5820k's and gtx970's a year or so ago for our graphics studio and they have been perfect for the adobe suite.

Thanks for the replies, as usual really appreciate it!

Using Windows 10.

Worth re-iterating my main pain point at work apart from faulty boots and graphical glitches on the screen is time to open files in VS, and build times. Doing coding, no graphics processing.

Was considering Ryzen, but am a little hesitant as don't have the best experience with AMD.

Thoughts on this bundle:

And this SSD?

FWIW not at all interested in OC'ing any components.
