I currently have a Dell U3415W and although nothing wrong with it, would like to try out the Freesync options with my 5700XT. Mainly use my monitor for office work during the weekdays and gaming and watching movies/YouTube in the weekends. Gaming is at 1440P. Having the ultrawide does help with the screen real estate when it comes to multiple browser windows/programs.

Recently looking to change the monitor but cant find one at £500-600 price range apart from the above mentioned G7 32" and LG 32GP850-B.
While the Dell U3415W is curved it is not as prominent as G7 I think. G7 says it has a 1000R curvature where as Dell U3415W is a 3800R which is less curved. So I am not sure if that is "too curvy" for me. This is where LG 32GP850-B comes in - it is flat!

G7 does have a higher refresh rate and seems to be a better VA panel compared to the mini IPS panel of LG.
Thoughts?

Yes I am torn too.
Most of the time(5 days out of 7) I use the monitor for productivity tasks(working from home) while keeping multiple browser tabs, outlook and Excel files. Right now the U3415W helps with havi g to snap 2 windows to either half of the monitor which kinda works for me.
I have not experienced freesync(or gsync) with a GPU so wanted to have that experience while keeping the productivity. Not sure if G7 used on its own would be good for that.

Ok I've spent exactly 15 mins playing with the G7 and....the LG is already boxed back up for return

Just upon initial use the screen is brighter and sharper and in games it looks fantastic. The curve is...a bit jarring at first but I can definitely see myself getting used to it. No flickering when using Gsync and the backlight bleed isn't bad enough to be noticeable whereas the IPS glow was a magnet for my eyes anytime I used the LG.

I'll do some more In depth testing tomorrow but I fully intend on sending the 32GP850 back.

Thank you for the quick feedback. Would. E interested to know what your longer usage feedback would be.

Finally bought one(LG 32 GP850 from a competitor). At first there was some black screens randomly but then I changed the display port cable to what was in the box(I was using the one I had before) and so far not a single black screen. Did a few tests with the screen and seems like no dead/stuck pixels and screen seems very good with no back light bleed as well!
Its a far cry from U3415W i was using till now and at first it took me a few minutes to get used to the dimensions. Images does look sharper and more vibrant even after turning down the stock settings. Itys much lighter than U3415W as well which is a plus.
