Looking for a new monitor

so reviews seem so similar of every other 144hz monitor. good screen for gaming but colours leave a lot to be desired.

seems like it would make a great gaming screen for the price and the LG motion jobby seems to do the biz.

Still in abit of predicament over this. Don't spose anyone's found any reviews of the LG apart from those mentioned? Just wondering why there isn't much talk around the LG.

Maybe I should play it safe with the AOC

ahh nice. thinking of going for that one myself. its on offer til weds so need to order before then really. might treat myself to an fk1 while im at it.

@Ewaf:

I hope you'll chime in with regards to the Dynamic Action Sync (the G-sync alternative), especially. Very interested in that feature.

Btw, I would also like to remind that the Motion 240 is the Lightboost-like feature that further reduces motion blur, but you will at the same time lose the benefit of flicker-free backlight. Which is actually quite understandable, given the basic operating principle of Lightboost-like technologies. But it will also disable the Dynamic Action Sync. Though this is apparently(?) what happens with Lightboost and G-sync, as well. Also, you can only use the Motion 240 while in 120Hz mode (as opposed to 144Hz). In other words, if you want to use the Motion 240, you will have to compromise on other features.

Tbh I haven't tried with it off, I have had it on since I got the monitor.
I certainly don't notice any input lag and playing BF4 is like a whole new experience for the better.

Mine arrived today and all i can say is WOW, Not used it much as its for xmas.

Found base brightness to much and the colours compared to my samsung tv(Current monitor) look amazing. I put borderlands and dota 2 on 144mhz and 240 mode found they both played well, not used long enough to notice the difference between the two but 240 mode does go darker!

Will update at xmas

Cool!

Mine arrived yesterday but still boxed, will hopefully have time to give it a whirl and will update with my initial thoughts.

Initial thoughts on the LG:

Build quality is superb
Colours are fantastic
I have been messing around with 144hz, and 120hz with motion 240 on. I can't decide which I prefer yet, after some testing in CSGO.

One thing I will say, my mind was blown at just how much smoother everything is! Shadow of Mordor looks immense also.

Thanks for the update ;)
Now if I were to buy this, I would have to buy an active DP cable as my 7970 only has one D-DVI output, or my Samsung S23a700d would have to run @60hz :(
