looking for a new monitor for multiplayer gaming, CPU is i5 8600k, MB is Gigabyte Z370 HD3-CF, GPU is Gigabyte Geforce RTX 2070 super, looking for a mid priced G sync HDR monitor please,

There isn't any mid priced HDR and anyway even that super expensive FALD isn't problem free.
We need self emissive pixel tech without separate backlight like OLED, MicroLED for true HDR.

IF you don't need good adjustments from stand, MSI G273QF has response times equal to LG 27GP850, but contrast is 45+% better than in LG's same resolution/size panel.

Though if you prefer darkened room, then VA's the way highest contrast of LCDs would give best looking image...
At the expensive of dark shade starting transitions having compared to others very slow reponse time in nearly 100% of VAs

Do you have any thoughts as to size and resolution? Given your age, don't bother with super-high refresh rates. 100 Hz will be good enough.

How ageist , looking for 27" to 32", HDR not so important i guess.

Bit the bullet and gone for ▷ ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ 27" 2560x1440 IPS 165H… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk) Thanks for all your answers, wanted to get a curved 32/34" but after speaking to the Optician at Specsavers he said that being blind in one eye would negate any advantages that a curves screen would give, thought of a 32/34" wide screen but not many about, a standard ratio 32/34" would be too large due to vision and the need to wear glasses so that is why I chose what I have now ordered.

This is the problem I am having with my present monitor an iiyama Prolite GB2773HS, it will not hold it's stated 144hz refresh rate when playing World of Warships ( my main game), it will only play in 60hz rate. system is i5 8600k, GPU is an RTX 2070 Super , MOBO is Gigabyte Z350 HD3-CF, if I put the refresh rate to 144hz and load the game as soon as it gets to my port it flickers and screen goes black on and off, any ideas (monitor is connected with Display port cable) but it works fine when i play COD Ghosts multiplayer player etc at 144hz??

It could be a bad display port cable.
Could be worth buying a new one, some monitors are picky/some cables, even those supplied with monitors are rubbish...!
