Hi,

So far my system is a q6600 quad core, decided to go for these cause I need a pc fast and the energy efficient will seem to do the job.
8800gtx graphic card. 8gb of ddr2 ram.
couple tb's of hdd.

I know a motherboard is important and Im getting someone to build it for me, so what is the best most reliable motherboard I can get. Overclocking and just a good compatible motherboard.

Ill be watercooling the northbridge too.

Thanks

the maximus formula board is a rock solid reliable clocking board, i have the normal version but there is also a special edition one with a water block on the north bridge which is built into the mobos cooling system.

Thanks guys. There seems to be so many asus board, its hard to find.
Going to be buying from overclockers anyway.

Choosing between
P5E3 deluxe and the maximum forumla/extreme.

For future proof, will the more pricey ones be able to use the cpu's intel release later this year? and how about the what nvidia release later this year too. Otherwise no point going future proof if it cant use later this years vga's and cpu. Wont go ddr3 till then anyway.

Thanks again

The standard (DDR2) P5E X38 is a cracking board. I have had mine almost since launch and it has proved to be a good stable clocking board. The bios was a little flaky at first but since rev 502 (we are now on 605) it has been rock solid. I have my NB watercooled by a XSPC Delta chipset block and a Zalman lapped aluminium NB heatsink on the SB. Some of the results i have had so far with this board are:-

Q6600 = 3.8Ghz.
E8500 = 4.5Ghz.
E6600 = 3.6Ghz (first attempt so far).

Max fsb i have personally has so far is 520Mhz with the E8500. Others have had more though.
