Yeah, although the 775 socket is going to be around for a bit of time still.
For overclocking the memory and ram independently for a c2d board, a 650i or 680 chipset will be what your after. The main difference in those 2 is the 650 only has 16X PCI-e lanes (fine if you have 1 graphics card, but if you have 2, they will be running at 8X each) and the 680 has 32X (so if you run 2, they will both run at the full 16X), although recent tests have shown that no card needs that amount of bandwidth, with most 650 boards performing the same as 680 boards even with 2 graphics cards. If your only after 1 graphics card, the 650 would be the better option (they are a lot cheaper).
For overclcking potential, the Asus P5N-E seems to be the best at the moment, although the new MSI board seems to be alright.
