Looking for a new router and switch.

I've grown tired of sky's supplied crappy wireless router so I'm looking for a new one along with a gigabit switch. All the stationary stuff, ie desktops and consoles are connected via ethernet, so 802.11n isn't required. Any reccomendations?

Well i would suggest a netgear, but dosent sky already supply a netgear part?

Yes, and I've had no end of problems with it. Crap range for a start.

Flash the sky router back to the netgear firmware ?

If thats no better this is the way forward - i have the cable version and signal strenth is loads better than anything else i have had.

That's the switch I have now, but when there is a lot of activity such as when using a torrent, after a while the switch jams and has to be switched off and on again. I'll try flashing the router, but I don't see how that will improve the range.
