Looking for a new Tv to replace our current in the living room.

Would prefer 49” but not opposed to slightly bigger, needs to be 4K and I have a budget of about £1000. Hoping to get the best tv I can for my money.

Just wondering what you guys would recommend to either buy now or possibly wait until the Black Friday sales.

I'd be careful of pinning your hopes on a Black Friday deal. There have been times when popular TV model prices have been inflated in the weeks beforehand so that it looks like there's a big saving. In reality, you could have bought at a similar price a couple of months before. In some cases, it's cheaper a few weeks after Black Friday.

The thing is that there just aren't the fat margins in TV retail to support huge one-off discounts at sale time. The market is just too competitive throughout the year.

Where you will see bigger savings is in the slower moving lines (unpopular models), and in cheap (poor-quality) TVs bought in as special one-off deals. The question is though, do you really want a TV that wasn't as good as the competitor brands?

All the four major brands (Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, LG) have TVs in your price range at 49" or 50" screen sizes. which is "the best" TV for you does depend on what you like to watch and how you'll use the TV, so at the moment there's not enough info in your OP to make any meaningful recommendations.
