Good day all.

As per the title I am looking to get a POE switch and I am looking from some advice.

Within the next week I will be fitting 4x POE IP CCTV Cameras.
Each camera in nightvision mode will pull 6Watts.

The only other things I need to connected up are my ADSL Router, PC, Media Server, and Internet Enabled TV.

I only need 10/100 for the POE IP CCTV Cameras.
But I would really like 10/100/1000 for my PC, Media Server, and Internet Enabled TV.

So I think a small 8-Port POE Switch should do the job fine.

Can you please advice.

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards.

Netgear GS108P should be perfect for you. I assume your cameras are 'real' PoE 802.3af as opposed to a proprietary version?

We have quite a few FS108p / FS116p switches out with customers and have quite a few fail. They die in a funny state, in that they look to be working (provide PoE) and have link lights but just don't pass traffic. The rack mount NetGears eg FS726TP are much more reliable.

{Edit}

I should add that NetGear happily swap them out under the lifetime warranty which isn't a major problem for us as we hold spares but if it's your only switch, it would be something of a PITA.
