Hi,

I have an Antec Lancing 5100 speakers system which was great some years ago, but I fed up with the cables and nowadays I seldom use/hear the back speakers. Can anyone suggest a quality 2.1 speakers system for music and some gaming?

thx

Have a look at the Harman/Kardon Soundsticks III. Design not maybe to your taste but I have also heard these and they sound pretty damn good.

How much do you want to spend?

They are I EOL'd them too we can no longer work with AE as they have chosen a new distributor which wants me to sell them at £199.99

I informed them that of the 1500 we had sold since we began stocking them we had never sold 1 for more than 149.99 and that we would no longer be stocking them. The new buy price was a 30% hike too

Some of the best 2.1 speakers I have ever used well built sounded great looked awesome on the desk and excellent value for money.

Saw them, they are a little big/ugly. I am looking also something slick, small nice looking set.

They may look a little ugly, but they sound superb..
But if looks are that important, as mentioned above, the Harmon Kardon sound sticks sound pleasing enough and look great.

I've been through quite a few sets of speakers, and whilst having something good looking is something I prefer, I was so amazed at the SP2500's, I would not a swap them for anything else.

A shame, but the right decision by the sounds of it.

While I've yet to hear any 2.1 as good as the Aegos outside the studio environment [I've bought at least 4 sets over the years], it's almost impossible to recommend them at £200 when they still don't have *any* of the features that a modern-day upmarket PC/AV speaker set needs to have: remote/desktop control, headphone out, mp/phone dock, multiple switchable inputs etc.
