Looking for a quiet GPU to compliment my new system - £150 budget

Hi guys,

Just upgrading my PC to the following:
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • 16GB RAM
  • B550M PRO4 AsRock
  • Adata xpg sx8200 pro 1TB
  • Corsair CX550M
I have an ideally £150 (but can go up to £200) budget and I'm looking for a GPU that will compliment my system but also be somewhat QUIET! I'm currently using a PowerColour R9 270 OC.

Looking at reviews/ searching the web shows GPU's but I see lots of complaints about how loud they are.

What would you recommend?

OP you'd need to mention the case you are using as well.

Half the time graphic cards cooler are loud is mostly because of poor airflow which make the graphic cooler run at much higher speed to compensate.

There's some interesting cards on clearance at the moment:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,057.96 (includes shipping: £0.00)

If you contact OCUK about them they might actually do you a better deal, most b-grade stuff is negotiable in my experience.

Only three months warranty via OCUK though, you may still be able to go directly through the manufacturer but I think it's on a case by case basis when buying b-stock.

I'd take a punt at the 5600XT personally.

Thanks for the replies!

What do you need the GPU to be able to do?

I currently play Overwatch and FM2020 but I also want to play the newer Battlefield/ Battlefront/ COD/ Star Wars Squadrons on High/Ultra settings with 60FPS.

Fractal Design Define S :); it's got loads of cooling.

Thanks for the suggestions! Is the 5600XT the fastest or the quietest? Why is it a premium over the others?

The 5600XT is the fastest card there par the 2060, not sure about noise but it's worth checking a review for that model.

I'd be tempted to make a cheeky offer on it either way.

Be sure to compare the b-stock prices to new, in some cases the b-stock can actually cost more, although as stated that should give you more room to negotiate.

Looks like it's out of stock now! But I'll keep an eye on the B-grade options.

Problem is guys if you throw half-decent B-Grade links up in here they'll just get snapped up by others, it's a pretty busy forum. I know there's not really an alternative to doing so, but the OP sure has to be quick off the mark!!

Unfortunately.

The 5600XT and Vega 56 have gone since my posting them, not sure if it's due to my posting them on here but I wouldn't be surprised.

The fact that the 5600XT was priced at £200 was because someone made an offer on it. So they would have been waiting. The Vega has been £180 for a year due to someone making an offer prior

Fair enough.

I wasn't aware they updated the price on the website for offers, usually you have to phone up to get the adjusted price.

Another question, I went on a PSU calculator and my system with the RX Vega 56 will max out at 471W: https://outervision.com/b/D2EM1J

I have a CX550M PSU, but the RX Vega reccomends a 750W. Is my PSU okay?
That PSU isn't the greatest but it should be fine if you tune the vega card. I'd say stick to a max target of 220w, which will probably mean keeping core frequency around 1500mhz.
