and I need recommendations. you lot know what quiet really is though, that's why I'm asking here.

I've currently got an XFX pro core 850W, and I'm moving to water cool soon, but I noticed that this will be the loudest thing in my rig by a long shot. I also want to go modular so its time for an upgrade.

budget is up to £150. looking for a minimum of 850W, but maybe closer to 1000W to cover me for upgrades.

I want it to be quieter than my GT typhoons which will be on fan controllers.

so far I'm leaning towards the CM silent pro M2 1000W.

does anyone have any recommendations?

is it really that much better than the Silent pro m2?

reason i ask is that i can actually get the CM much cheaper being in ireland than i can the AX :(

I don't know, but the AX series is silent when not gaming etc.

Haven't noticed it when gaming tbh, but obviously that's because I either have the speakers turned up or headphones on.

My mechanical drives make more noise just being spun up than my PSU does.

thanks.

i can get the m2 1000W £30 cheaper than the ax 850.

your money, what would you do?

Do you need 1000w?

Corsair PSU are known to be the dogs danglies! I personally would go with the AX.

im corrently running a HD6990 and a 2500K, both overclocked. I might be in the position to get another 6970 to trifire in the future (if i dont sell on the 6990 before then and go 7950CF :D)

that, and the Water cooling etc means i need 850W+.

i really am just looking for super quiet though.

im leaning towards the AX850 but i dont think its worth that much more than the M2 1kw... :(
