Looking for a race game (space style)

Hey mates,
I know consoles have endless titles where you have some sort of advanced craft you race and can upgrade. Are there any good ones for pc?

Wipeout 2097/XL is available on pc but enjoying it would depend if you can put up with the ps1 era graphics & get it running on a curren os

i remember playing rollcage when it first came out, was quite a fun racing game.
