Not sure what sub forum to put this in..

im looking to decorate the inside of my HAF 922 case soon, it comes with a red fan, and i have another red fan bolted on the side,

ive been looking at cathodes and LEDs to add some more red, but in a lot of the pictures i see the cathode/LED is not really red red its more of a pinky or orange red!

so can someone point me in the direction some proper red illumination.. id be really appreciative if any pictures could be provided :)

thanks

If you want all round illuminstion of a cathode, then buy a white one, and then using Lighting Gels to change the colour. Means you get exactly what you want, and not some poor imitation of colour.

How about these NZXT sleeved leds, they look a lot nicer than the other brands as they are all braided.

I bought the white version last week and they are too bright for what i am looking for even on the lowest setting so not using them for now, will probably end up sticking them behind the motherboard when i can be bothered.

The red LED SMD strips that you can find for down the back of the sofa prices on a well known auction site give off a good red glow. Grab a few 30cm or longer ones and cut down to fill your case with red light. The NZXT also look good but depending on your taste may be overbright as mentioned above.

Yeah the red led strips look good, would rather the actual leds were a bit closer together.. 30cm would be the ideal length too
