Hey,

I was just wondering if you guys could give me some general advice about purcashing a monitor - I've long considered upgrading it and was hoping to stick with samsung (have a 51" samsung plasma and the galaxy s3 and love them both)

Im reletively inexperienced with computer building so i've been researching it over the past week or so - as far as I can gather for gaming use a low response time and 120hz is considered optimum for this day and age.

The one that specifically caught my eye was the S27A950D but after searching high and low at multiple retailers no-one seems to stock it - I live in the north east of england (newcastle) , Is there a reason no-one sells this anymore ? was it recalled or discontinued?

The only alternative I could find sells for around £700-800 which is a bit steep for a monitor no matter how good it is in my opinion.

edit: In addition to the above the official samsung website only sells monitors on the .com site , the .co.uk does not sell any monitors.

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on one of these , or any good alternative monitors for around the £200-500 mark?

Any input would be great because im at a loss at the moment.

As im not having any joy finding the above model im considering these two:

SAMSUNG S27B750 Full HD 27" LED Monitor

Resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels
Inputs HDMI
Response time 2 ms

or this one:

SAMSUNG LS27B350 Full HD 27" LED Monitor

Resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels
Inputs HDMI
Response time 2 ms

I cant find reviews on either model and the search feature on this site brings back very little - are either of these going to be any good for a pc gamer?

Im trying to future proof my setup aswell

I've owned the S27a950D and found the input lag and general response to feel much worse than my current Asus 27" 120hz.

Just saying I wouldnt go out of my way to find one :p they're good but very costly too.

I'd never consider anything thats 60hz though regardless of colours until i totally quit fps gaming :p

Never had any issues with input lag or response on my s27a950. But the 3d on it stinks imho.. 2d gaming though is pretty darn awwsome.

Nah its not 'bad' at all. Its just less responsive than alternatives ive tried since yet costs more than any generally!

Perhaps you had a bad sample? just a thought. My s950 was actually the cheapest 120hz 27inch monitor available here in denmark when i bought it. I would have thought it would be similar everywhere else.
