Hello all, I’m looking to build a desktop setup with a budget of 1.3k including windows 11 home edition.

I’ve put some ideas together in my basket which I’ll link below- although I’m relatively new to this and want to ensure the compatibility and value etc. Please take a look and let me know what you think and / or if any adjustments need to be made.

Cheers, Tom.

Thank you for the hard work with the basket, I appreciate it as I am fairly new to building sets like this. Is there a reason to go for a more expensive motherboard with less processing power? I’ll keep an eye out for supply and swap if required- as I plan to purchase in the next few days.

this is well overpriced tbh
can get 5600x/3060ti prebuilds for £900 (shopping around)

for £1200 should be looking at least at a 3070 or 6800 imo
Yeah I’m new to this so not sure what’s optimal for the money, all advice is welcome and thank you for the post. If at all possible if you could include a basket link for a 1.3 k budget I’d appreciate it. I’m not overly worried about crazy performance but I do game and would like solid smooth speed and graphics.

this is what i'd get for your £1.3k budget:

5700x - 8 core processor
b550 board is sufficient for most users who don't require lots of i/o devices
32gb 3200mhz ram - best price/performance
tier b psu - https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/ - solid psu (source: me - i've used this power supply in a couple of my friends' builds)
radeon 6800 (~30% faster than the 6700)
sn570 is a decent mid-range pcie3 ssd, could opt for the sn750se if you want a pcie4 ssd
i've not specced windows as grey keys can be bought for a lot cheaper
solid cooler for the price (source: me - i've personally used this cooler so first-hand experience)

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,271.92 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Thank you for taking the time to do that- looks great
