Hey

I'm after a small case (smallest that will fit a ATX mobo and XFX Pro 1000W platinum PSU).

I would prefer it to be aluminium, i'm not overly keen on plastic cases.

Preferably able to fit a large CPU heatsink

Budget hasn't been decided yet so just throw your suggestions at me please.

Thanks! Oh BTW I haven't updated my sig so just ignore it.

More out of curiosity than anything else. Why do you need a 1000W PSU?
If you require that much then you must be using some power hungry components which produce a lot of heat. So a small case would be rather inefficient?

When I was building my PC I had planned on HD6970 Tri-fire or similar but then got made redundant so didn't have much money left, but I had already brought and braided the PSU.

I have been after a case that matches what you are after.

From what I have found googling around is this:

You might have a little bit of an issue with clearance with your PSU in that model. I know Lian Li did a previous revision of this case which inverted the motherboard. As far as I am aware there weren't as many clearance issues with it.
It was called the Lian Li A05N.

If not a fan of Lian Li you could have a look at the Fractal Arc Mini but am not sure whether it is aluminium of steel+plastic

Yeah I've seriously considered the Lian Li you linked, unfortunately I've read on another forum that it only accepts PSU's upto 160mm in length (standard ATX size), my PSU measures about 190mm in length + room for the cables. Also I have no idea how much room there is behind the motherboard tray for cable management. The fractal just looks cheap and nasty imo :(

Yeh the PSU size issue has put me off the new model tbh. I don't have a modular PSU, so its just going to be a mess.
I saw in a review somewhere where they measured the spacing behind the tray and if memory serves, I think it was like 15mm which is plenty really for cable routing.

I have to agree about the Fractal though, great design idea but rubbish materials.
