Looking for a strategy game...

...where technology, weapon/fleet/army loadouts and battle plays a critical role. My favorites so far have been the XCOM series, Total War, Battletech, FM and MOO2 when I was much younger.
I tried Stellaris and some others but most of them lack in the battles part. Any other suggestions?

Don't like the fact that you watch the battles with no intervention at all. I think Sins of Solar Empire is the same, with minimum intervention, no?
