Hi,

I'm looking for a new AGP card for my system, just to tide my over until I can afford to get a new pc (Poor students :().

My current system has a 3.2ghz P4 (800mhz FSB) and 1GB of RAM.. I did have a Radeon 9800PRO, but it recently died so I stuck in my old GeForce4Ti (4200.. ouch).. so you can see why I'm desperate to get a new card.

My 9800PRO was fine for playing HL2, Doom 3 and Far Cry but struggled a bit with Oblivion.. so I'm looking for a card that would be able to run oblivion on DECENT settings (as good as possible without spending a small fortune, it's only a temporary thing.. I'm not sure if my 3.2ghz would be much of a bottleneck on any card, so I figure you guys know more about this than me, so you'd be able to make a better suggestion than I could. Obviously if I could get a card that would last longer, it'd mean I could save more to spend on my new pc.

go for an ati card if u want to play oblivion..i wont say which one as i dont know your budget..they do seem to run a bit better than the nvidia cards on that particular game.
i remember my bro's 1950pro was a fair bit smoother than my 7800gt...but dont expect miracles as even my 8800gts 640mb doesnt give me great fps on that game.

Ahh okay, I'll look at getting an ATI card for that game then.
Turns out I'll probably have to get a new power supply too, as I've just had the old one out and it's a crappy 250W Dell one. :(

This "temporary fix" it becoming more and more expensive :P
