Looking for a turn based war game.

Hey everyone. I don’t get much gaming time now with having two young children so I’m looking for a turn based war game that I can save, then pick up later.

I don’t want anything too economics heavy, or micromanaged. Not sure I could get my head around Solaris or Civ.

Panzer Corps 2 is pretty good, mostly based around the battles with a small resource part in terms of upgrades\experience etc

Depends on what you mean by a 'war game'. XCOM games are a war games.

The Troop looks good. Don't know if you can save, and looks a bit heavy.

Or maybe History Line 1914-1918

Civ 5 really isn't that hard to get into. It's about as dumbed down as it can get for a Civ game.

I played it on the Amiga years ago and was not too in depth but not sure if it has gotten more complex

No, it's not - but you can still save mid-mission. Pretty much any strategy game has that.
