Unknown Device Identifier states the VAIO PCG-GR9/K notebook I've reformatted has an ATI M6LY video card but nowhere can I find a driver for it for XP!

The notebook was bought in Japan and the jp site is balls to navigate even with Chrome's autotranslate.

This is such a bugger :p

If it makes you feel better, the PCG-GR9/K section on the sony.jp site didn't have the video driver. It kept saying that the driver was on the recovery disk.

Since sony do the drivers, rather than amd, it's install/backup disks for older laptops usually.

Most of the time though, you'll just get it from windows update.

Tried Windows update but nothing unfortunately, it didn't even have a wifi card slot inside, only bluetooth so I've had to install a cardbus 54G card I had lying around.

Nice laptop though, impressed with the screen as well, from such an old screen it supports 1440x1050 and is very crisp and clear. I guess Japan was a few years ahead of the rest of the world as usual though.

I'll give that a shot too if the ATI driver I just got above fails ta!
