As per post really, i current have an ISP provided icotera i4882-01 , and thats ideal as it stands vertically upright on a corner shelf. There is no space for routers with a large footprint. Are there any going a bit like the c9 ac1900 but newer?? It connects to a fttp modem if that matters?

Draytek 2766ax

These are my favourite but a bit too expensive for me

Could be the ideal location for a UniFi Dream Router (UDR) but it depends on your incoming network speed. If it’s more than 650Mbps and uses PPPoE to authenticate your line then the UDR will not go any faster and would be a choke-point on your network.
I've got a 1Gbps connection. Up and down. Thank you though

Apparently it's not PPPoE. It's dhcp or something.
Quoted from email:
In order to put in place your own network set up, you would need to plug your main router into the 10GE port on the connection box that we install. The router would also need to be in DHCP mode. A soft reset (turning it OFF for 30secs and back ON again) should request a DHCP lease. You won't need any username or password to authenticate the connection, other services use something called PPPOE but we don't, so no username or password is needed.

1gb. Provided by Community Fibre and connected to their 10gb Adtran modem. Although I've disabled the WiFi so I can use my Unifi setup for better coverage, I did test the built-in WiFi and with a WiFi 6 capable client I was seeing ~900mbps odd.
So I'd simply plug it into the supplied modem... And done? Is it any good for gaming and streaming, social media... All at the same time? I'm not an octupus but that's the usual family load onto the system

Community Fibre uses DHCP as well, so yes, it should be just plug in and ready to go.

Yes, completely fine for gaming, streaming social, etc. I haven't even had a proper look at the QoS since the bandwidth is so fast it's hard to saturate it to the point where it affects other users.
Just bought one. Thank you for your help

It works fine in single mode. I have the ISP version of the MX4200 model, haven't had any issues with that by itself. Connects to the modem via the WAN port.
Do you have any issues with some apps not loading up with it? I've found when trying to use deliveroo and sometimes paying on ebay, the app icon just spins. As soon as I turn off WiFi, all is OK.

A week ago I had similar issues and nailed it down to IPv6. Disabled it (although I had to use the web UI instead of the app to do it) and everything was working again. I enabled it again a few days ago when I noticed my internet went down briefly, so I assumed it was more to do with my ISP and not the router.
I can't get my app working but n/m. Don't think I got IPv6 on? Tbh I don't even know what it is! Other than a few issues with some apps, it seems OK. Nice small footprint on the shelf which is what I wanted. Connected via DHCP too with no dramas

Go into the Linksys web UI, click on connectivity in the menu on the left side, then Internet Settings, click on IPv6, click edit to unlock the settings, then next to IPv6 - Automatic uncheck the box. Click apply on the bottom right of the window then reboot the router.
Thank you for that. The IPv6 was on - what ever that is. So have followed your instructions to turn it off.
