Hi all

I'm looking to upgrade some bits from my machine, in total i'll be upgrading:

- Motherboard (currently on an older Gigabyte Z87X-D3H)
- CPU (currently on an i5 4670k)
- RAM (afaik DDR3 is in the past so i'll need to ditch my current 16GB RAM)

Other bits worth mentioning are that i've got a Corsair RM550 PSU and an Asus Strix 1080, these are here to stay, PSU is an easy switch should I need more power down the line.

I'll mostly be using this rig for gaming at 3440x1440, do you have any suggestions for what I should throw together? I haven't really bought any hardware for quite some time so would appreciate help from you guys. I haven't really set a budget for this stuff so will take any suggestions you make on board. Ideally this will be enough to last me a few more years before I think about upgrading anything again but you never know.

Thank you for any suggestions you make, your time is greatly appreciated.

Looking at a calculator it's giving me results of around about 470W recommended so on the PSU side I should be okay :) I'm not necessarily in a rush, I did consider upgrading last year but put it off so just feel like i'm delaying the inevitable really! I doubt i'll be forking out for top dollar processors if new ones are coming out, however that may mean a reduction in the current gen pricey. Hmm.
