As the title says, I'm thinking of getting a new monitor. I currently have an ASUS VE247H 24 inch LED which I bought back in 2013.
I'm not sure what to go for or what to look at as I'm a total monitor novice, so any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Size wise I don't really want anything over 27 inch if I can help it (as it wont fit on my desk). Would like to get something G-sync and with 144 Hz Refresh Rate if possible.
As for resolution I'm currently on 1080p don't mind going up higher but worried my single GTX 980 wont handle it if I want to play newer games on max settings? I don't mind sticking to 1080p for the next few years really as i don't necessarily want to upgrade my GPU for a little while yet anyway.
Pc Spec wise:
CPU: i5 4670k
GPU: Asus STRIX-GTX980-DC2OC-4GD5
Mobo: Gigabyte Z87-D3HP
Patriot Intel Extreme Masters 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
So any help would be appreciated as I don't really know where to begin as there is so much choice out there I'm, finding it a bit bewildering.
Oh and budget...I guess I'm willing to spend anywhere up to around £500 (or a little bit more) if I means I get a good monitor that will last a good few years
I was also thinking of getting some new RAM too, but don't know if I should ask for advice on that here or start a new thread in the memory section.
