Watercooling my 650d, I have need of some advice.

I have most of my components - just in need of a radiator and fittings. My tubing is 3/8 id 5/8 od and I've been looking at the monsoon fittings - read a few dodgy reviews on them but then decent ones too. Are they worth the money? Also, I have come across some plastic compression fittings.... I wouldn't have thought these any good but what do you guys say?

Radiator wise I'm looking 240mm/280 size for the roof of the case. Later on down the line I'll look at a 200mm for the front of the case but not right now.
Best rads for a tight budget?

Thanks guys, a bit vague but it's late for me.

The first question when watercooling is why?
It's more hassle, more cost, needs more attention, fails more oftern, offers limited temp improvement and is heavier that air cooling.

The why, will tell you the spec of your hardware.
The three answers to Why are usually

1) running your system a max stable oc 24/7 - aka parents pay the electric bill
2) running a near silent gaming pc - aka the GF/wife doesn't like the noise
3) 'Cos I want to / I like shiny - aka have money to burn.

Always buy a quality rad - go second hand if you don't have the budget.
High FPI = fast fans, noise and max OC
Low FPI = no/slow fans, quite and OC

I'm making my rig quieter, i miss having the 'cool' factor of watercooling too. I don't really overclock as I havent the need.

So I'm looking at a low fpi rad for the top of my 650d. Something along the lines of the magicool MC-RADI280 maybe?

Roof mounted rads give the option of semi passive cooling.
Aka the rad doesn't have any fans and acts as extract. 1 or 2 case fans as intake.
cpu and gpu in loop, psu on separate air path
You'd need to block all the other holes, but it should work well with the 650d

I used to cool an OCed 460gtx and 2500k with a PA120.3 like this.
Makes for a very quite system

What cpu/gpu are you going to use?

Currently on an old school q6600 but as soon as funds allow I'll be upgrading (damn wedding savings!)

Gpu wise I'm on a 6950- will be getting that underwater when I get the second rad me thinks.

I have a obsidian 650D with water cooling set up. The Maximum thickness of teh 240/280 radiator at the roof of the case is 47mm if your using standard 25mm fans. Anything more and it will be in the way of your motherboard.

If i were you, i would go for a 240mm radiator on top, there is little performance difference between 240 and 280mm considering the cost difference. Also WAY more fans are available for the 240mm ones and so you will probably get better performance from a 240mm with a set of corsair sp120's than a 280mm with just any 140mm fans.

An example of a cheap good radiator that is exactly the maximum thickness for the roof of your case + one 25mm thick fan is this:
