I’m looking for an internet phone that I can get PAYG or sim free to use for a few months until the X10 or some other phone comes out that is worth getting a contract for.

Pretty much the only thing I want it for is to view the web. I can get a LG cookie for £50 or a Nokia 5530 for £100. Does anyone have any opinions on either of these 2 phones or recommendations for other phones that are about the same price? 5800 seems good but can't get it for less than about £180.

I have a simplicity 20 plan that give me 600 text/minutes and unlimited internet but the phone I have is crap for internet use, so i need a phone that will take advantage of the internet, im looking for advice on which is the best budget phone.

Thanks guys but I’m not after information on the tariff I’m just after recommendations for the phone.

So far my options are the cookie or the 5530 does anyone have any experience of using these phones that would be willing to tell me if they are any good for browsing the web or does anyone have an alternative suggestion.

Thanks.

I've seen the 5800 for £150 on a few websites on most networks only yesterday. Really for internet usage you want a phone that has 3G, as anything less is really slow. I currently have the 5800, but use opera mini for browsing the net which is pretty good. and also compatible with a vast amount of phones. The cookie isn't good for mobile internet usage, my gf has one and is looking to get the 5800, hence me looking around for best prices.

I suspect the 5530 doesn't have 3G either so will be similar in performance to the cookie.

Been trying to find more info on both these phones and you're quite right the 5530 doesn't have 3g :( looks like I may have to spend a bit more than I wanted, trouble is I don't want to spend to much as I'll only be using it for a 2 or 3 months.
