Looking for an LCD TV

I'm currently looking for a 37" LCD. The most I will be able to spend is around £800.

I have had a look at the Samsung LE37R87BDX on here, but some say Sharpe TVs are better as they don't upscale to 1080?

Also, are 100Hz LCDs better? What is the improvement over normal LCDs?

As you can probably tell I haven't got a clue about whats that best as there are that many out there.

The sharp's have better picture clarity, but the samsungs have better blacks.

Best alrounder I found was the toshiba 37X3030DB... cracking clarity and great blacks, if just a little short of the samsung... can be had for ~£750
