Looking for an original strategy game

I was a huge fan of the old Dungeon Keeper games, as another thread just reminded me, and now I'm looking for suggestions. I've been out of the PC gaming world for half a lifetime now - the computer I'm using struggled with B&W2 - but my core i7 rig should be finished end of July, so I need some decent, unusual strategy games. Sins of a Solar Empire is up there for checking out, seeing as I loved MoO3 & GalCiv II, any other must-plays?

If you want unusual go for The Total War Series - some funky mods about.

other than that can't think of any unsual ones, unless you want to play tiddlywinks.

An oldie, but if you liked Dungeon keeper, Evil Genius might be worth a go if you haven't played it yet.
