Thanks Psycho that one is a over my limit at this time but will keep in mind if I can up the budget later.

@madtoady That is what I am doing friday going around all my local ones in luton like cycle king, halfords and maybe toys r us.

My friend has a raleigh max ogre 15 speed bike in his shed and it needs new tires, right gear selector and a good clean is this worth buying or stay away?

Just some thing I can go about on mostly on the roads to get around town nothing major like going up side of mountain or cross country race :)

Mostly just transport to my local shooting club and that is a 20 minute ride.

Seen some other ones but probably not very good I suspect.

Thanks for the advice :)

I think that is the trouble for a beginner and does not know what to look out for and could get ripped off easy :(

That one will most likely go over what I could pay anyways.

The Giant ocr1 went for £256 lol

Thinking about I don't think a fixed gear be good for me if it means much more extra work as I will not be 100% in a 5 days after visiting the hospital lol

I think if I had to fall back on my backup option if nothing used was available I would go for this http://www.decathlon.co.uk/rockrider-50-men-id_8202062.html

It's the only one I can I see that is ok for a new bike if I can't get a used one and the ones I have seen on ebay went for to much or are to far away to even collect :(

Thanks.

I did message the seller asking for more details and close pictures.
I mite take a drive to see it as it's only 30min drive.

Also today I have seen a few bikes in my local shop, not sure if they are any good.
Specialized Hardrock Sport £150

SCOTT Voltage YZ3 £115

Thanks.

@grudas
I contacted the guy about the single gear bike and it comes with brakes if needed so that is good for me.

If I wanted £15 delivery UPS but I can get the train to London for £15 on the weekend and see what configuration I want at the shop.

If I don't get this single gear bike and see nothing on eBay I most likely save up to £300 and buy a new geared bike and be done with it.

Thanks.

Cheers grudas.

I had a few items I put up for sale and most of it sold now just waiting on a few more bits to go then my budget will be £300+ :D

Still looking at the one for £150 as that is cheap but also checking now the £300 area.

Like this one without carbon forks but not fussed about that to much as a newbie.

After my op on Friday (yes Friday :( lol) I will ask how long it will be before I can ride, but will keep a look out for sales in the mean time.

Thanks.
