I answered my own question and went for the AOC above and I'm very impressed so far. I've tested G-Sync in Doom and noticed immediately how smooth the movement is when turning the camera, and there are no hints of input lag or tearing.

I think G-Sync is one of those things where I wouldn't want to be without it now that I've tried it, in the same way that I wouldn't want to go back to a 4:3 screen after using a widescreen, it's that good.

Just came in here to see people's opinions on both monitors as I was lookin to buy one and I ordered one yesterday.

I ended up going with Asus predator (has a bad ass name! Haha)

This monitor section is awfully quiet.

I just noticed both of these are back in stock which there weren't a few days ago, so I ordered the AOC elsewhere for the same price (£290).

I'm interested to know how good the Predator is in terms of image quality, couldn't find any proper reviews of it. I'm not too sure about the colours the AOC produces, it doesn't seem as vibrant as my BenQ XL2411T which is now my secondary monitor. But maybe that's just because I need to calibrate it properly, and I have no idea how to do that.

I received my predator monitor yesterday,i chose this monitor out of the two as from reviews this apparently had better colour reproduction but tbh they are probably the same panel ,out of the box the colours are okay but a bit washed out(I believe all if not most are tn panels and they generally are always worse colour wise, some are just better than others),compared to my iiyama 27" however with a little tweaking I'm sure the colours will be fine as Ive already adjusted to it and do not miss my 27" at all ,I have yet to Calibrate it for colour(there are tutorials online and you can also buy calibraters for your screen to do it automatically for you and I believe is the best way,to be clear I know very little about this, anyone out there with good info about this?),some even measure the light in the room and constantly change the screen settings to decrease eye strain and keep colours as good as possible.

I can say I shall never own a 60hz screen again ,I absouletly love 144hz and glad I chose to stay at 1080p rather than . moving upto 1440p ,I enabled fast sync and g sync, played doom last night and it was beautifully smooth.

I love the sliding height stand and being able to angle and spin the monitor ,nice solid design with a weighty base.

This(or going to nividia gpu, only ever had amd before ) has cured everything I was getting annoyed about when gaming on pc aka screen tears and jittering .

Also this screen is nividia 3d ,which I'm sure wasn't in the overclockers advert bit was a nice surprise to find out!.

Overall I'm super happy with monitor.

How are you finding the aoc?
