The missus and I are looking for a game recommendation, really what we want is Rimworld to have a co-op mode as we love Rimworld but really want to play it together, alas though Rimworld doesnt offer that.

So we are looking for something similar, something "survivaly", which we can co-op. I've looked today at stuff like Astroneer and Space Engineers but my concern is content. We dont want something where once you have reached a point of survival the game becomes challengeless. I know obviously that many Survival games reach that stage, so just looking for one which has plenty of content before reaching that point. We've tried Ark and 7 Days already (we reached a stage in Ark for example where there was no challenge anymore). We're not interested in Factorio or Terraria/Minecraft.

Are there any other similar titles that I can take a gander at ?

Ah yeah, we have Dont Starve Together, should have put that on the list, we loved it. Really wish they would add a multiplayer aspect to Oxygen Not Included too.

You're getting into the realms of coop building games like Minecraft. Or coop, building, survival games such as Ark, Rust, 7 day to die etc.

I think you've played all the popular and well reviewed ones from what I can tell, and with not wanting anything like Minecraft/Terraria then it's difficult to recommend. I will however suggest you try a different style of game you can co-op? There are some real good games you'd never really think to look at twice but there are some personal recommendations that you can play with your missus, the later 2 being somewhat therapeutic and challenging at the same time;
  • Divinity: Original Sin
  • Total War: Shogun 2
  • Tropico 4 or 5
  • Farming Simulator 17
  • Spintires

I'd reconsider Factorio to be honest. I was quite turned off by it at first but after trying it again a few months later I was absolutely hooked. Works very well in coop too.

The trouble with Factorio is that I dont think my missus will be interested in it, its not something that has much appeal to the average female I think. Quite a male vibe to it, machines and engineering and so on. She loves Rimworld because of the building, animals, looking after the people etc. I'm not sure she will get the same enjoyment from conveyor belts and ore grinding machines.
